Resources

You might be on a personal journey with advanced melanoma, but that doesn’t mean you have to travel alone. Here are resources that can help you.

Canadian groups for melanoma patients

Melanoma Network of Canada

Founded in 2009 by Annette Cyr, a melanoma patient herself, the Melanoma Network of Canada (MNC) is a national charity recognized as a leading provider of personal support and outreach programs in Canada for melanoma patients and their families. MNC is recognized as an authoritative voice for melanoma patients, ensuring that timely and accurate information on the disease is available. MNC is improving access for early detection, diagnosis and treatment therapies for melanoma patients.

Save Your Skin Foundation

The Save Your Skin Foundation was created by North Vancouver resident Kathy Barnard and her friends, family, and colleagues. Kathy was diagnosed with stage IV malignant melanoma in 2003, and though her treatments are finished, she continues to fight melanoma. Save Your Skin’s immediate goals are to raise awareness of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, to provide melanoma patients with access to information about trial drugs, emotional and financial support and to provide support to the new wave of melanoma survivors that are beginning to emerge due to the success of clinical trial treatments.
